Unable to process credit card payments

Hi Carrie,

I checked on this and it looks like the PayPal Pro option has been activated in Event Espresso > Payment settings on your site, but the PayPal Pro API credentials have not been filled out.

If you have a PayPal Pro account (which is an extra upgrade from the standard PayPal account) you can add your API credentials there.

If you do not have the PayPal Pro account upgrade, you can still allow payments with credit cards through the standard PayPal option. Here’s how to make sure that your PayPal account settings allow for paying by credit card or optional throught a PayPal account, which PayPal calls “PayPal account optional”:

  1. Log in to your PayPal Account and select the Profile tab near the top of the screen.
  2. Click on My selling tools on the left side of the page.
  3. Click on Update next to Website preferences.
  4. Scroll down the page to the section titled PayPal Account Optional and select On, then click Save at the bottom of the page .

That’s it! Now, when registering, your attendees will be given the choice of signing in to their PayPal account or paying directly with a credit card.

Currently Event Espresso does not include a feature that allows for a write in donation amount. I’ve registered this as a suggestion and we will keep it in mind for future features and updates!
