Unable to log onto the Event Mobile App – Android

I’ve downloaded Version 1.0 of Event Espresso 4 from the Android app store, when I try to log in I receive the message “No route was found matching the URL and request method”.

As per troubleshooting on your documentation I’m running WordPress version 4.5.1 and Event Espresso version 4.8.42.p, as well as Android version 6.0.1. Permalinks are set to Post Name and have been reset. We’re running CloudFlare(R) Cache Purge (no idea if that would be relevant), and using https.

I’m happy to provide any other information that could help, as most of my team doesn’t believe in turning on a computer if they have their phones… so I’m really looking forward to getting this app running!

Can you go to your WordPress dashboard and then go to WordPress > Settings > Permalinks? This will refresh the rewrite rules. Then you can try the app again.

I refreshed the rewrite rules as well, still no change

If you remove the redirect for the /events/ permalink (the one that redirects it to /education-events/) does that make a difference?

I just tried that (and also refreshed the Permalinks again after), and it had no effect. I also disabled any redirects that involved events. I’ve reenabled them for now, though if the turn out to be the problem I’m sure I can find another way to work around them.

My site is running Nginx, I’m not sure if that’s relevant at all. I also created a new forum post before realising that this had been split, so sorry about that!

Hi there,

Can you contact your host to see if they can increase the limit for max_allowed_packet?

Hello,

We’ve made some changes in the latest release to improve compatibility across different hosting platforms. Could you confirm that this works in the latest release of Event Espresso 4 (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/)?

If you do not see an update notice, then you can go to Event Espresso –> General Settings and save changes.

That will trigger a check for updated software.

I updated to the latest release and it’s working now! Thanks so much for your help 🙂
