Unable to Change Text on Registration Form and Thank You Page

PCOS Challenge

January 11, 2016 at 7:57 pm

EE Version: 4.8.29.p
WordPress: 4.4.1
Browser: Chrome Version 47.0.2526.106
Registration Link: https://pcoschallenge.org/symposium/philadelphia/events/pcosc-2016/

I would like to change the text on the following pages:

1) Registration Form when more than one ticket is selected -“This option allows you to use the above information for all additional attendee question fields. %sPlease note:%s some events may have additional questions that you may still be required to answer in order to complete your registration.”

2) “Thank You” Page – “Congratulations Your registration has been successfully processed. Check your email for your registration confirmation or click the button below to view / download / print a full description of your purchases and registration information.”

I have tried all three of the proposed solutions on the page at the following link to no to avail (i.e. change the language files using Poedit, use the quick localization plugin, and add a custom function).

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-change-wording-with-poedit/

With regard to the Poedit solution, I am also confirming that I renamed the files to:
event_espresso-en_US.po
event_espresso-en_US.mo

Then uploaded them to the wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages directory.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi William,

One thing to note on those strings is that they are within what we call our Single Page Checkout (SPCO) and are a part of your ‘session’. SPCO caches some data during checkout so that its not constantly pulling in the same information that it already has.

Some text strings are included in this so you will sometimes need to clear the session (cancel the registration) to pull in the latest changes, you can do this by visiting the /registration-cancelled/ page on your site.

I used a custom getgext function shown here:

https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/ccd094b53386448edcf6

Added that to my themes functions.php file, visited /registration-cancelled/ to confirm I had not active session and start a new registration.

You’ll notice the changes here – http://take.ms/v4nAZ

And here – http://take.ms/SvWlQ

If you try the above does it work for you?

Also with the MO/PO files, where did you download the PO file from?
