Hi,

I want to do a ticket discount for one event. Pricing for one or two tickets will be $100 each. And if additional tickets are purchased each one will be $75 each. So the pricing total would break out like this:
1 Ticket = $100
2 Tickets = 100 + 100 = $200
3 Tickets = 100 + 100 + 75 = $275
4 Tickets = 100 + 100 + 75 + 75 = $350
etc.

Will the EE4 Promotions and Discount Codes add-on allow this kind of discount, preferably with out a promo code the customer has to enter? I realize I could create separate tickets with the correct total price. But I want the customer to just get the correct pricing based on the quantity of tickets they select.

Thanks.

Hi Dan, if you already know the pricing for the tickets, then you could create a ticket bundle:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/create-ticket-bundle/

You would not need to use the Promotions add-on to set this up as it is already available by using the maximum and minimum options that are available in the advanced area (gear icon) of the ticket editor within the event editor in your WP dashboard.

Hi Lorenzo,

Thank you for your reply. I realize you can set up the different ticket bundles, but what I am looking for is to show just one ticket option for the customer. They pick the number of tickets needed, and then total cost is calculated appropriately. I don’t want the customer to have to wade through a bunch of options. So I was wondering if the Promotions and Discount Codes add-on can make this happen. Thanks.

Hi Dan, the promotions add-on won’t be able to handle that particular discount condition.

Hi Lorenzo,

Thank you for answering that. Do you know if you have any future plans to accommodate ticket pricing like my example?

I see with EE4 Promotions it has Promotional pricing without discount codes. Can you explain how that works? I watched the Screencast demo video, but that just shows a really basic example of using a promo code. Is it a flat discount off of the cart? Can you set a cart total threshold, so when the cart total is greater than $100, apply set discount? I am trying to figure out if there is another way to achieve the ticket discount I need, without having to define a bunch of ticket options on the front end. Thanks.

Hi there Dan,

Currently percentage-based discounts (e.g. 15% off) or fixed discounts (e.g. $25 off) are supported.

However, there isn’t a tiered option that applies the discount when a certain amount is purchased. This is planned in a future version of the add-on along with some other discount conditions.
