I want to allow people to put a deposit on a workshop and pay the balance when they arrive at the workshop. I asked a variation on this question a few weeks ago and was pointed to a “How To…” page that I can’t find right now. It was by Lorenzo.
The other part of my question is about configuring a PayPal button to take the payment balance. In some cases, I want the freedom to take any amount that the person can pay, so the price of the ticket is not set to a specific value. How do I accomplish this?

Ticket prices in EE4 must have a specific value. What you can do is build a custom PayPal “Buy Now” button, set its amount to 0 (zero) and they’ll be able to input any amount to pay.
