Trying to Decide if Event Espresso Is Right for My Company

Once a year we run a large professional development conference for our industry. We’re looking for a new system that will allow people to register online, get automatic follow up emails and notifications about the event, and also be able to track their attendance at the different workshops during the conference.

I’m just not sure if Event Espresso can do all of this. I’ll give an example of something specific that we are looking to do:

On one of the days of our event we have a general morning session that everyone attends. We need to be able to scan people’s badges at the door when they enter, and when they leave so we know they were present and for how long. Attendees are issued professional development credits based on attendance, and this helps them maintain their professional license.

In the afternoon, we hold 3 break-out sessions. Attendees decide based on the morning presentations, which session they attend in the afternoon. We need to be able to track which attendee goes into which session by scanning their badge when they enter, and when they leave.

At the end of the event, we’d like to be able to export this information so that we can issue certificates for the amount of professional development credits each attendee earns.

Is this something EE can do?

We would also be looking at integrating with Infusionsoft.

Thank you!

Hi Aly,

Thanks for your interest in Event Espresso.

Event Espresso may be able to do what you need, but perhaps not in the way you would like.

For example, Check-ins are logged in the database after a ticket has been scanned. Check outs, can only be done manually from the admin, not by scanning the ticket, but they are also logged.

The data is exported to a spreadsheet, but you may need to data-mine it to get the exact information you need, or run a custom query to the database.

The attendees would also need to register for each event (break outs would need to be events) in order to be logged as an attendee, which might be inconvenient if done mid way through the event itself.

We do have an Infusionsoft integration.

Please note, this information relates to Event Espresso 3. Event Espresso 4 will not currently meet your requirements.

If you have any other questions feel free to let me know.
