My site is not in English and I placed my .po/.mo translation files in the uploads/espresso file.

I need to introduce new strings in a couple of automated emails, and I can only do this by adding them in the custom_functions.php file. However, these new strings do not pass in the .po/.mo files, so I cannot translate them. How to do?

Hi there,

Have you thought about just adding the content of the email into the Email Manager? Then you wouldn’t need to do translations for the emails.

Will that work for you?

Of course I thought.

Only, the email I’m talking about, as I said in my previous message, is automated, so I have no control over it; it is coded and triggered automatically. More precisely, I’m talking about the “New attendee registration approval pending” email that EE sends automatically.

If this message could be controlled from the Email Manager, I would be happy to learn how to do.

Hi,

If your site is a single language site, one way would be to copy the event_espresso_send_attendee_registration_approval_pending function (it is a pluggable function) to the custom files addon and edit what you need there, including adding in the translations directly.

“If this message could be controlled from the Email Manager,”

It can’t currently, and for that we are sorry. 4.0 will be introducing a more more flexible messaging system allowing a lot more control over the emails.
