Translated Venues URL path results in error

Hello,

I am not sure from which setting or control, but my venues are displayed under /locații URL subpath (at least this is how the link appears in a single event page). The issue is that the actual venues info are still available under /venues URL subpath, so there is a mismatch that I need to fix somehow.
Please advise, thank you.

Hi there,

Have you flushed your permalinks since you changed the translation?

Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks.

You don’t need to do anything just load the page.

Now go back to the EE venue and retest the link, is it working now?

Actually, it keeps redirecting to the same URL. In other words said, the request URL and the response header URL are the same: https://some-server-of-mine.com/Loca%C8%9Bii/hotel-intercontinental/

The browser then gives up on those too many redirects (infinite loop, actually).

Could it be because of character encoding?

One more thing to add – yes, I did access the permalink page, flushed all caches then retried.

I don’t think this is an encoding issue, all we are doing here is passing the value over to register_post_type() and the translated string is passed as the slug.

It does appear to be an issue with the accent used in the translation though, if I remove that from the translation file the venues load fine (testing on one of my test sites I get the same results).

I’ve created a quick gist which removes the accent from the slug here:

You can add that to a custom functions plugin on your site, we have some documentation on creating one here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/create-site-specific-plugin-wordpress-site/

That should allow the venus to load using /locatii

Hello, your fix has worked flawlessly! I had to revisit the permalinks page, though, as to make it work. Thanks for the effort! I appreciate it!
