Transaction Incomplete (yes, that old chestnut)

Hiya,

I’ve spent a good 4 hours trying to resolve this with advice gleaned from these forums, to no avail unfortunately!

Here’s what I have tried:

  1. Latest version of WordPress
  2. Most recent version of Espresso Business bought (no upgrade)
  3. IPN activated and pointing to Transactions page
  4. Transaction page public to internet Business PayPal account
  5. HTTPS not enabled
  6. Installed the simplified transactions page template
  7. cURL activated on server, and outgoing cURL not blocked
  8. Plugins deactivated
  9. Theme set to original wordpress 1.2 theme

The automatic emails are not sending out either, but I am guessing this is part of the same problem?

The URL is http://www.nowrelate.com

I can send the log file if you like – don’t want to paste it in here!

Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Bridie

It looks like your site is in maintenance mode (screenshot: http://www.screencast.com/t/VNXnGyuwY. If it is in maintenance mode, PayPal cannot connect to update the payment status.

Hi Seth,

Thanks – I had been testing it out of maintenance mode, but had made a few changes and turned it back on.

However, I have just turned it off and tried again, and am still getting an incomplete payment.

BTW currently in Sandbox, though it should work the same, right? (FYI the Mailchimp integration does not seem to work with Sandbox…)

You might want to try running a live paypal transaction. The paypal sandbox hasn’t been that reliable lately. If the live paypal payment doesn’t work, then please send us the error logs and paypal log file to support at event espresso dot com.

It might be good to send us WP admin adn FTP login credentials as well.

All of the Event Espresso pages are set to “Draft” status (screenshot: http://www.screencast.com/t/tQFpwCOswdb). That is most likely one of the reasons PayPal cannot connect the transactions page.

Also, it does look like PayPal tried to send the data to your site (screenshot: http://www.screencast.com/t/zpGQaEteMZf) with a “Pending” status.

Thankyou. It was my understanding that draft files were still public if one had the correct URL. I’ll try that πŸ™‚

Nope. Draft status is only viewable by the admin or the user that created the page/post.
