Transaction Error Notification

We recently updated our EE Plugins to:
Event Espresso — — Version 4.9.78.p
Event Espresso – Attendee Mover (EE4.9.13+) — — Version 1.0.4.p Event Espresso – Authorize.net (SIM) Gateway (EE 4.6.0+) — — Version 1.0.4.p Event Espresso – Barcode Scanner (EE 4.6.0+) — — Version 1.0.11.p Event Espresso – Promotions (EE 4.9.10+) — — Version 1.0.13.p Event Espresso – Ticketing (EE 4+) — — Version 1.0.9.p

After we did that, I started getting Transaction Error Notifications from Authorize.net for every credit card transaction that was processed. The transactions are processing through without issue, but the information isn’t getting passed back to the website and I’m having to update each transaction manually. The notification indicates “Your script timed out while we were trying to post transaction results to it.”

Might there be something in the latest update that could have caused this? Thank you.

In case it is significant, at the same time the plugins were updated, the WordPress core was also updated from 5.0.3 to 5.1.

Hi,

I haven’t seen where the updates could cause this, but we are aware that Authorize.net is in the process of closing down the SIM payment method. Authorize.net now recommends switching to one of their newer supported payment methods like Accept, which is available as a download from your account page. Here’s a link to the set up guide for Authorize.net Accept:

We’re in the middle of a heavy payment processing period — I’d really rather not change payment methods midstream. Is it possible to find links to older versions of the plugins so we can attempt a ‘downgrade’ to see if that temporarily fixes the problem? By mid-April we should be able to switch permanently.

It’s possible to use older versions of the software, but it’s a risky proposition, especially in the middle of a heavy payment processing period. You can find older versions of software on GitHub:

Upgrading to the Accept plugin seems to have solved the problem. Thank you.
