Hi, I’ve manually added registrations to three events on my site, applying payment as cash. In one case everything look fine, but for two events there’s now a discrepancy between the number of tickets sold and the number of of registrations. For one event there have only been two registrations – those I manually added as a single sale of two tickets, yet four tickets are recorded as being sold. For another there have been 10 registrations – including two I manually added, but now 12 tickets are recorded as sold. When I go to Registrations and Transactions there’s no record of the extra sales, but when I look at the information next to the tickets in the event page I see (for example) Sold 2 Reg 4. And the number of tickets remaining are reduced accordingly. I can just change the total number of tickets available to account for the mystery sales, but it would be good to know what’s happening, and ideally get the numbers to match. My system information is… |

Hi there,
Can you check within this event and take a look within the Approved registrations list. Do you still see your registrations shown in the list?
I know you posted that as an example, but did you mean Sold 4 Reg 2? Sold 2 Reg 4 would be valid. 4 registrations with 2 of those registrations set as Approved (approved registrations are the only registrations that apply to the sold values) Sold 4 Reg 2 would be invalid, as you can’t have sold more tickets than your have registrations. Could you post a screenshot of this so we can view what you mean? If you prefer to post them privately send them support[at]eventespresso.com and include a link to this thread so we know what they are related to. |

Yes, I’ve checked the approved registrations and there are only two. I’ve emailed you a screenshot of the ticket field, it is showing as 4 Sold and 2 Reg, which given my understanding of the system should not be possible! I don’t think that there’s any chance of the two extra “Sold”s being actual sales that haven’t processed properly – the ticket selector for one of the events only displays on a password protected page (the EE event itself isn’t password protected, as I want the event description to display on other parts of the site). The other event isn’t password protected (I’ve sent a screenshot of that as well), so I don’t think that that’s part of the issue. |

Thank you, so your event is Sold 4 Regs 2. So has this event only ever had your 2 manual registrations applied? Or should there actually be more? To explain we have previously seen users manually add registrations to EE but when adding the registrations they use the back button on the browser to re-add another, this breaks the session details as 2 registrations are assigned to the same session and EE does not know which one should have the details saved to it (Its not as clear cut as that but that’s the general problem, EE should throw a warning when you use the back button to prevent this). This can then cause the registration to be removed but the ‘Sold’ value to remain as it was, so I’m trying to rule that out. If other registrations have not been made on this event that’s not the cause.
Your understanding is correct, however your original example had 2 Sold and 4 Regs, which IS valid, 4 Sold and 2 Regs is NOT valid.
Again that would have been possible in the 2 Sold 4 Regs scenario, it does not apply if you have 4 Sold and 2 Regs. Regs = The number of ANY registrations made on that ticket (any registration status) Sold = The number of registrations from ‘Regs’ that have been ‘Approved’. So you should not have more Sold than Regs. (Note currently I’m focusing on the event with Sold 4 Regs 2 because its easier to troubleshoot that one, the cause is likely the same for both events) |
