Recently, I upgraded from Event Espresso 3 to Event Espresso 4. I went through the migration process with no errors. However, after the upgrade the ticket/registration on my current active/upcoming events no longer displaying. I read the forum to ensure I had all applicable checkmarks were checked and even deleted the EE files were deleted via FTP and then reinstalled via WP Admin. I also created a new event believing it might be an issue with event that were created in EE3. However, the same problem – no registration/ticking form.

Hello,

Could you provide a link to one of your event pages please?

Also, could you temporarily switch to any other default WP theme such as Twenty Fifteen or Twenty Fourteen and check the event page again?

If it appears there, then we’ll need a copy of your theme as a zip file to troubleshoot why the ticket selector is not appearing.

I changed the template to Twenty Sixteen and it still is not working. The following is one of the events in question: http://glga.info/goin-green-mixer/

I also tried doing something different – embedding the registration in the page/ This made the registration appear, but not the actual post: http://glga.info/gea/

Any ideas?

Hi, there are some elements there that are specific to Event Espresso 3 such as the register link which may have been manually entered.

In Event Espresso 4, the ticket selector initiates a registration so the registration form won’t appear on that page but it will during registration checkout.

Could you go to the event and then look at the event options and ensure that is enabled?

Yes, but there is no registration button on the page. Is there supposed to be a way to register from the events page?

I created a new event just now. It should have nothing to do with EE3 because EE3 has been disabled and moved to a backup file folder. The event is: http://glga.info/events/new-event-3132016/ When I visit the page, again, no registration button or way to access the form.

On the other event you asked me to check, I have. Please see the screenshots. Perhaps I am not understanding what you are asking.

Yes there is, however not a ‘register’ button like EE3, but the Ticket Selector should be shown on the single event page.

Your events appear to be setup correctly, looking here:

http://glga.info/events/

You can see your events display the ticket selector in the listing (some don’t and they correctly disaplay ‘show details’ so I’m assuming the ticket selector is set not to be displayed on those)

Because you’ve switched to twentysixteen and the same still happens it could be an issue with one of your plugins running the_content too early. Event Espresso runs monitors calls for the_content to make sure it does not add the event details more than once, if a plugin is calling the_content earlier than expected then EE can see it has been run once and does not add the details to any other calls.

First try navigating to:

Event Espresso -> Events -> Templates

Under ‘Single Event Pages’ you’ll find the ‘Use Custom Display Order’ options – http://take.ms/hyCKS

Set that to Yes, save the settings and retest.

I wanted to follow-up. We checked the Custom Display Order and it was already set to yes. However, I noticed that an event was created through Event Espresso and it did not contain the registration link http://glga.info/wp-content/uploads/1/2016/03/Screen-Shot-2016-03-14-at-7.11.43-AM.png

However, somehow a post was also created for the event (not sure how we replicate this) and the post had the link baked in http://glga.info/wp-content/uploads/1/2016/03/Screen-Shot-2016-03-14-at-7.11.12-AM.png

Also, when one clicked the link on the post, it went to a registration page that listed all events, not the specific event which is located here – http://glga.info/events/

I want events created through Event Espresso to show the registration on the event page (not the post) and when people click the register button that they are taken to the registration page for that event, not all event registrations.

Thank you for all your help so far. I am hoping to resolve this issue this week if possible.

I want events created through Event Espresso to show the registration on the event page (not the post) and when people click the register button that they are taken to the registration page for that event, not all event registrations.

EE4 events are actually custom posts, but they work in a completely different way to EE3 so although you say you don’t want the post, with EE4 you do.

EE3 had a ‘create a post’ feature which may be causing some confusion here.

Can I take a look at the admin for this so I can figure out what is going on?

If so can you send temporary login details using this form:
