hey guys, is it possible to have multiple pricing options under a ticket, and also to allow a customer to register more than one person for an event at a time? I am running an event with several ticket options and want to make this as easy for my attendees as possible. Here is a link to the registration page as it stands right now

http://thetonybrownfoundation.org/events/event-registration?ee=19

So for instance, if someone wants to purchase the meal package, I would like for them to have the choice of 3 meals during registration. I would also like the option for people to either purchase more than one ticket, or purchase the ticket and a sponsorship option at the same time.

Sorry if these seem like newb questions but just getting a little lost in the interface, thanks in advance!!!

So I figured out the group purchase issue, simple fix. One thing I did notice however is that in the question groups, “State” is listed under personal info and is required (with no way to alter that group?) and the address information group I created does not have all the questions I assigned, i.e. phone number and address 1

Hi Anne,

OK, for your original question:

Enabling groups as you have done is good. Also you may wish to consider using the Multiple Event Registration (MER) addon, as it allows your visitors to add events to cart and importantly order multiple amounts of the individual tickets types (eg 2 Conference, and 4 Workshop Sponsor.

It is part of your business package so feel free to download it from your account page and play around with it. Documentation – https://eventespresso.com/wiki/multiple-event-registration-add-on/

Another addon to consider is the Price Modifier. This is part of the Pre Release so it is in Beta, but it allows you to add questions which modify the ticket price, so for example the meal package.

However Price Modifier does not currently work alongside MER. https://eventespresso.com/wiki/espresso-price-modifier/

Regarding the questions:

State should not be under Personal Information, I can only assume it was allocated there in error. IT si not there by default. In the Question Groups, edit the Personal Information group, and deselect the State from the list of checkboxes on the right and update the group.

Edit the Address question group and add state to it by ticking the box, if not already done so.

Thank you for that help! Just a couple more things to clarify….

Is there a way to have it just say register and have that bring you to the cart screen instead of having both there? Seems like that might be confusing to some people. The add to cart option is what I would like the registration page to go to.

Second thing, once on the add to cart page, is it possible to have the different items have different questions? For example, I would not need the address information for the sponsor package, but I would need additional information such as sponsor name, and a special message.

Thanks again!!!

Hi Anne,

Regarding the Register or Add to Cart, it is possible, but you would need to do a template file edit, to change that.

Different questions are not possible for different tickets within an event. The only way to achieve that is to have each ticket type as it’s own event.

If you got creative with some javascript your could hide/show questions depending on tiocket selected. Alternatively and easier, add the questions to question groups and use the description option to advise when and if they should answer the questions.

Thank you for the help. Not having the option of separate questions for different tickets seems like a rather large inconvenience for my customers, seeing as how it would make for very redundant information and long forms to fill out when most of the time it is not required. Is this something you guys will be implementing in the near future? Until the past couple days I was using a free plugin called “wpticketing” (which I thought was also an Event Espresso plugin) that allowed me that same option, and as I am not at all familiar with java script or anything, this is a huge selling point for me.

Hi Anne,

I understand. One of the fundamental differences at this time between WP Event Ticketing and Event Espresso is WP Event Ticketing is built to handle one event. Event Espresso is built to handle many events. Most use cases of Event Espresso will have different sets of questions per event.

While there have been discussions about making future versions of Event Espresso associate ticket types with their own questions this isn’t something we can implement right away. With that, we can advise setting up a ticket type as an event. So for example, the sponsor ticket would be set up like its own event with its own price and set of questions.

Hope that helps!
