The issue is the old version of the Event Espresso mobile app isn’t fully compatible with the new ticketing add-on. We are waiting on Apple to approve the new version. If you have access to an android device, the new version can be downloaded from Google play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eventespresso.android&hl=en

The new iPhone app is in the store and ready to download. Before I download it can you confirm that it is compatible with 3.1.23P and V1.1 of the ticketing app?

No. It may work with the old versions of EE, but it was designed for 3.1.24.x and Ticketing 2.0.

> No. It may work with the old versions of EE,

Glad I checked as this is in conflict to my understanding from this thread https://eventespresso.com/topic/ticketing-version-2/

I am not going to upgrade to 3.1.24, it is too much work to make all the changes to the ticket and all the other changes needed in our busy season. If I upgrade it will be when 3.2 is available. It would be nice if someone tested to see if the iPhone app works with older versions of EE! If I download the app to test I do not know if I can re-install the old version back on the iPhone if it fails.

There should be a note on the iPhone update on compatibility for users who don’t frequent the forums, as they might just simply download the app.

fyi, i updated to 2.0 ticketing on iPhone and using 3.1.20 P and it works fine.

I unfortunately hit “update all” this morning when I had 6 updates on my iPhone, forgetting the potential problem with the ticketing app and got version 2.0. It does not look to be working with my EE 3.1.23P and ticketing 1.1.

The events download, but they are not separated by the tabs for “today – upcoming – past” events (the same issue as before which makes it difficult to use with many events all of the same title, which in my case is the time of the session on the day) and the search filter is not working on the new version so I can no longer reduce the list.

I am now struggling with how to re-install the old iPhone app so that I have a working system.

Have you tried restoring to a backup?

Josh, Looked into that, but apart from not wanting to take the time to do a complete reset and restore of my device I was not sure if it would help as the information provided by Apple states “Restore will attempt to download the same version of the app that you had installed previously. If that version is no longer available, the latest version of the app will be restored.” I am trying to find out if the old version is still available on iTunes (to my understanding apps etc are not backed-up in your iCloud storage they get downloaded from iTunes) and if it is how can I simply just download it. I might have a copy on my PC, from when I last connected over wire to iTunes, I will have to see when I get back into the office.

Yeah, I think that’s the other route:

@jomo I could not get the app to work with 3.1.23 and ticketing 1.1, but I see you said it worked with 3.1.20? So the search and pages worked for your events,

Perhaps it is something in my event set up:
1) Do you have many active events?
2) Is your event registration ending on the day of the event or before?
3) Are you using the recurring event manager?

@peter actually i am on 3.1.24.P –
It used to show all attendees when clicked – but doesn’t anymore- It Shows No Attendees.
The search works ok – but you have to type a name in its entirety.

i have one event.
Event expire on registration date – set to NO on general settings, but i do have the Regsitration End: set to they day of my event.
(confusing i know!)

Not using recurring event manager.

@jomo Thanks. The fact you are on 3.1.24 and not 3.1.20 explains a lot.

Just for clarification by name in the search you mean event name/title? And do you really need to type the complete title, no live search as with the old app?

Ok so basically the current iOS app version 2.0 does not work with 3.1.25? (still displaying null)

I wonder how long it takes for Apple to approve your app normally? My event is upcoming on October. I’m not sure whether I’d want to downgrade EE from 3.1.25 to 3.1.24

Hi Michael,

Sorry for the confusion.

Apple has approved the app and the latest version is available in the app store. In order to use the new app with 3.1.25, you’ll need to update to the latest version of the ticketing add-on (version 2.x, available to download on your account page) and the new mobile app api (can be downloaded from the ticketing add-on documentation page: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/espresso-ticketing/)

Oh, sorry, my fault. I’ve downloaded all the latest yesterday and I still got the (null) thingie so I made a post here.

I just tried it again. It seems that it will give:
Price Option, Price, and Event Time to be null if the Payment Status is Incomplete (Declined).

If success or if declined because attendees already checked in, then the app (iOS) shows the details just fine.

It could be a bug or probably it’s my fault somewhere. Thanks for the reply 🙂

That’s interesting. I’ll need to do some testing and if I can reproduce this issue, I’ll create a ticket so this can be addressed.
