Hi

i require a booking system for gym sessions which has block booking tickets
i have configured the demo with block booking tickets that expire and come on sale concurrently (i will hide unavailable tickets on the final version)

i also need to have a ticket for free taster sessions, is it possible to create one free taster ticket then allow the applicant to select the preferred date ?

The only other option i see is to create a free taster ticket for every session but this seems messy.

Hi there,

Currently for this to work you would need to create an individual taster ticket for each session in order to allow the registration to only apply to a specific date.

Thanks for the swift reply Tony

It does seem that is the only way which is a shame as individual tickets would be messy/overwhelming on the ticket selector as some events will have 30 sessions which would mean i would have a single ticket to book the course and then 30 more tickets for taster sessions.

As a workaround i have tried a single bulk ticket with a question to specify the required date but this messes up the registration numbers.

It would be great if a ticket could be set up with multiple event dates assigned as normal, then # Datetimes specified as normal and then a new force date selection option.
The event dates are already assigned and the # Datetimes are specified so the force date section option would present the user on registration with a mandatory check box against the all event dates (and to maximum number specified in the # Datetimes)

Other than that loving EE4

I have posted a link to this thread on the Trello page (trying to put the pressure on 🙂 ) as it seems that its cropped up a few times.

Yeah I didn’t mention that because it works, but will cause problems with registration numbers as a single registration then applies to all datetimes.

Whilst not the same as your requesting we are looking to improve the ticket selector to allow the user to select dates and then only show tickets that apply to that date, you would still need to create multiple individual tickets within the admin, but the user then wouldn’t see all of the at once. Take a look here:

However also note that development has not started on this feature yet, we are working through various stages of other areas so this is not due out soon.

I’m glad you like EE4 and regarding the recurring events add-on, we’d love to get that out asap however there’s a lot of moving parts to that add-on.

Careful planning, heavy testing and various changes are set to come 🙂

(P.S. Whilst I’ve not been to those classes, I have seen similar and they are awesome! Not sure if you are part of the team the runs them yourself but either way its great to see them using EE )

That would work, bit of a pain making multiple tickets but sounds like the front end would look good so it would certainly fulfill my requirements.

I shall have to think up another method in the mean time for booking taster sessions but good to know a neater solution may be on the cards

The key feature for us is the block booking ticket which appears to function well, taster sessions are secondary.

Feel free to add any comments to that gist, the more feedback we get on how people prefer for it to work the better really.
