This is partly a re-post of the following: …as well as some new questions! We have a similar scenario where we need one ticket such as a “pay now” type to have a discount but only permit the user to use the PayPal payment method. Conversely the other tickets which aren’t discounted would be able to use both the invoice and PayPal methods. I’m just wondering if this was a work in progress as a core feature, or perhaps you can recommend a plugin I need to purchase for the time being? Is it possible to use a price modifier to be applied when a certain quantity is sold? So if a user buys 1-5 tickets — they pay 100%, 6-9 they pay 90%… and so on? Again if not, anyone have a plugin? Bear in mind that I’m aware I could add multiple tickets to achieve this goal (each with a min/max qty) however we have a specific use-case for needing it to be calculated dynamically on a single available ticket type. |
Hi there, It turns out the closest solution we have to offer for restricting one type of payment is the Payment methods pro add-on. It’s not officially released, but you’ll find some information about where to download it here in our documentation: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/payment-methods-pro-add-on/ Please bear in mind that the payment methods pro add-on lets you specify the payment method per event, not per ticket. Regarding your other questions:
No, price modifiers do not have this feature, this is only something that the bundled tickets feature can do right now.
We’re not aware of a plugin that adds this. Sorry. |

I suppose one solution might be to use the payment methods pro add-on as you suggest but to create multiple instances of the same event. Then restrict the payments that way. Thanks, that gives me something to go on. I’m also thinking the promotions add-on might be able to do what I want with the variable quantity/discount per break point… unless I’m mistaken? |
I don’t know, I’m not sure if I follow your variable quantity/discount per break point with the promotions add-on idea. Can you explain further? |

I honestly don’t know either now… after revisiting the add-on description I realize I may have been looking at something else and have my wires crossed. Other than number of uses and date range validity, is there no way to restrict a discount’s usage? For example a rule that effectively says “this voucher code is only valid when you buy between min & max qty tickets”? |
Hello, that sounds similar to a volume-based discount which is not currently available with the promotions system. The closest option would be bundled tickets. However, this would require you to create each bundled ticket option via the ticket editor. — |
