Before buying the Personal License, I want to make sure that a registrant can designate individuals that she would like to sit with at the event.

Also, need registrant to be able to buy event tickets for others (as her guests) and provide the names of those guests.

We need an automatic purchase confirmation to go to the purchaser and not to her guest registrants.
Thanks!

Hi Ann,

How are you today?

How do you intend on people specifying who they want to sit with? You can add a text box for someone to enter the name of the individual. Will that work?

You can use the Additional Attendees feature (group registration) and one individual can purchase multiple tickets and you can collect all the information as you would any other attendee or you can choose to just ask for the personal information (https://eventespresso.com/features/multiple-attendee-registration/).

When you’re using the Group/additional attendee registration feature, each attendee receives their own confirmation of the registration.

Let me know if I can do anything else for you.

Hi Garth,
Thanks for the response. I think this sounds good. I just have a couple more questions.

  • I want to be sure that we can easily use Authorize.net as our method of collecting payment for event registration.
  • When a guest attendee receives their own confirmation of the registration, will the total cost be included also? We used the free version of Event Espresso last year and guests were alarmed by their confirmation email because they thought it was saying that their account had been charged the ticket amount.

We support both Authorize.net AIM and SIM

Yes that is still the case, though the email (site wide or per event) can be edited to remove that line or to reword it to be less alarming.

Thanks for the reply. I’m almost ready to buy. I want to make sure that Event Espresso does not collect a fee for each ticket that we sell to our events.

Also, am I correct in my understanding that the purchase of the Personal License is a one-time purchase, but customer support needs to be renewed annually?

Lastly, I’ve looked over your add-ons and it doesn’t look like they are anything that I’ll need. Just want to be sure that there isn’t an add-on I’m unaware of that is necessary for us to do fairly basic event registrations.

Thanks!

I have not used the Seating Chart add-on, but it looks like it will do exactly what you want if not too complicated for your application. https://eventespresso.com/product/espresso-seating/

Hi Ann,

No we do not take any commissions or fees on ticket sales.

The licence is for the product and one year of support and updates. Should you let the licence lapse, the plugin will continue to work, though support will lapse and obviously as WordPress continues to evolve the plugin wont keep up unless there are updates applied

Plus we continue to improve the plugin and features regularly.

Lastly, I’ve looked over your add-ons and it doesn’t look like they
are anything that I’ll need. Just want to be sure that there isn’t an
add-on I’m unaware of that is necessary for us to do fairly basic
event registrations.

Well, that depends on your set up, but most basic registrations can be achieved with just the Personal licence. If you want to have tickets, and add to cart functionality etc, then I would recommend the Business licence, its the best overall value.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
