Hi all,

I am am new to EE and trying to get the first event off the rails.
Using:
wp 3.9.1
EE3 with members addon, multi event Reg’, recurring events, social media and ticketing addons.

The event is a cream tea special on a heritage railway. In the event we would like to sell each train with a total of 16 places with 4 types of tickets (adults, Children and Senior Citizens) available on each train. the customer can choose the quantity of each ticket required.

I can not seem to get this happening with EE3 as can only seem to get only one type of ticket per order. Is this only available with EE4? or am I doing something wrong with EE3?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Matt

Hi Matthew,

You need to set the Attendee Limit in the event to 16, then add your different ticket options. However, you can’t set limits on each ticket option in EE3. That is a feature that is only in EE4.

Let me know if you have anymore questions. I’ll be happy to answer them.

Thanks Jonathan,

I have just tried uploading EE4 to try out the ticket options as I think this will be a better fit for what we need. However, I have received this message in the upload plugin screen

Could not copy file. core/db_models/fields/EE_Integer_Field.php

I have downloaded the v4.2.4 from your website earlier this evening.

Hi Matthew,

EE3 with members addon, multi event Reg’, recurring events, social media and ticketing addons.

Just to make sure you are aware, EE4 does not currently support any of the EE3 Add-ons (with the exception of the Calendar) so none of the above Add-ons will continue to work with EE4.

To answer your original question with EE3 you will need to use the Multi Event Registration Add-on which you have installed, this will add the event to a ‘cart’ system and then the user can select multiple ticket types within the registration. However when using EE3 each ticket type requires the Personal Information question group be entered at least once.

EE4 handles this much more elegantly but as mentioned does not support the Add-ons. I can advise you on how to install EE4 if you still wish to do so? (You will likely need FTP/cPanel access)
