Ticket notice not sent once delayed Payment received?

I had a customer (there may be more than one, I haven’t checked) mention that after he paid, he did not receive his ticket notice.

He abandoned the transaction, came back, updated his payment information, and finalized. The transaction is marked as approved, and payment complete. I can see there were Payment Reminders sent (I sent them to help him out), and a Payment Confirmation, but no Ticket Notice(s) have been sent.

Will they be sent (is there a cron, and I should just wait)? Or is there a button I can press somewhere to send them out?

I have a lot of novice customers that may do the same thing (abandon a transaction accidentally, and come back and pay later after receiving a payment reminder), and I would hate to have customers show up at the gate without ever having received tickets… Also, it is kind of a pain to look around and see if a Ticket Notice was sent for a user, so I am a little concerned that more than just one instance like this will pop up. :-/

Could cause a headache. Guidance?

The messages system uses wp-cron to schedule those emails, and you can check the status of those emails by going to Event Espresso > Messages.

You can also change the Message settings to avoid the delay where it will send immediately on the same request. This setting is in Event Espresso > Messages > Message Settings.

I know I can see scheduled messages, they are not showing up there…

By “they” do you mean the Ticket Notice messages? Is the Ticket Notice message activated on your site?

Ticket and Ticket Notice are active and have active Default Templates. They are sending for those who purchase and pay via PayPal in one fell, however, this customer had selected Check, and when he came back, he selected PayPal. Paid, and no Ticket or Ticket Notice was sent. I did note that a Registration Details message was in the queue, and I generated and sent it, however there was no Ticket or Ticket Notice.

“Registration Approved” notice, rather.

I did see that there is a “Resend Ticket Notice” link on the Registrations page. So I used that for his order. I am just confused as to why that would have happen.. :-/

PayPal as in PayPal Standard or PayPal Express? Are the Payment Received messages getting sent after payment?

As a side note, you can add something like
<p class="lead"><a href="[TXN_TICKETS_URL]">Print your tickets</a>!</p>

To the registration approved and/or payment received messages and that way they’ll be able to get their tickets from any of the emails.

PayPal Express, and I will add that right away. Awesome point!
