Ticket not being sent for free event

If I set up a free event, or if someone uses a 100% discount, they do not receive the ticket, they only get the registration confirmation. How do I get them a ticket?

Hi,

Add the [ticket_link] shortcode to the registration confirmation email in the General Settings (for site wide) or in a custom email via Email Manager.

I had thought of that, but I was hoping there was a solution that did not send out the ticket to paying clients before they paid. Should a free or 100% voucher be treated the same as a paying customer?

Hi Peter,

This solution does not sent out the ticket to paying customers before they pay:

You can create a custom registration confirmation email in the email manager and include a ticket link, then select that custom email when you set up free events.

Josh, I do not have free events, rather I have free games within an event, so I can’t use the custom registration solution. How do you handle Groupon type vouchers, are tickets generated when someone uses a Groupon voucher for an event?

Yes. The vouchers are accepted as payment for the event so they get a ticket just as they would if they paid for it directly.
