I want to sell a total of 16 tickets. I want to give a person the choice to pay for accommodation or not e.g. Tickets costs: $620 without accommodation and $850 with accommodation. Its not clear that I can set it up to do this. Please note I cannot create 2 ticket types as I have to specify number of tickets and I don’t know who wants accommodation and who doesn’t and I cannot over sell the tickets…
That’s not a reason to not be able to create 2 ticket types. What you do is assign both ticket types to the same datetime, and set your registration limit in the datetime’s Reg limit field. This will allow for a variable number of tickets for each, but the total will be limited by what’s set in the Datetime’s Reg Limit field.
argh yes.. I was getting confused about the Quantity field for a Ticket Type.. I understand now that the limit in the Event Datetimes is the total number of tickets that can be sold, no matter what ticket type!
Exactly. What you’ll find is if you leave the Ticket Quantity field blank, when you go to save the event it will update the Ticket Quantity fields to match the Datetime Reg limit. It may be a little confusing to see a 16 in all 3 fields, but in the case of the Ticket Quantity field set to 16, that means that a maximum of 16 could be sold if the other ticket sales amount to 0. The breakdown could also be 9 + 7, 10 + 6, and so on.
It’s really the datetime reg limit that enforces the total number of tickets sold.
