That is the error our attendees are getting when trying to register. I have tested and get the same thing: “This Registration Step Could Not Be Completed. Please refresh the page and try again.” If you hit the submit button you get another error |

Hi there, That’s a catchall that Event Espresso shows either when a request has an empty response or there’s been a fatal error on the server. At what point during registration is the above shown? If you check the servers error logs around the time you get the error, are there any errors from Event Espresso there? |
Actually I do not know how to check error logs. |
Your host will usually have a section within your control panel to view errors.
Hmm, strange, which event are you testing? The reason I ask is I tested a quick registration before posting above and got through to the payment options step where I then stopped, so wanted to confirm which step it happened on. |

It happens on this event: and this one: |

Yeah, there’s a Fatal error being thrown server side on the ajax request: https://monosnap.com/file/CcP2rMtGLFp3Sc7reXk572dWd1EJ8t I need the full error from the PHP error logs, if you host doesn’t have a section for you to view those they are usually in a file call error_log or similar in the root directory of the site OR if can’t find those I can check for them via FTP if preferred, for that I’ll need all of the request details on this form: |

weird. WPFforms doesn’t have anything to do with EE and its not happening on other sites (. I will try your suggestions. |
EE is using a WP admin-ajax request, which as far as WordPress is concerned is just another admin request so WPForms can load on those requests. Your right that it doesn’t have anything to do with EE but still loads and unfortunately can still throw errors on those request. |
Ok, WPForms plug in fixed but still getting the error with EE. |
Thank you, so that showed a new error relating to some debug code I added to your version of EE a while back. It requires the custom functions plugin for it to work but looks like that’s been de-activated so I removed the code from your site again. Does it now work for you? |
Yes that did it! Thank you!!!!! |
You’re most welcome 🙂 |
