I keep getting this message when I try to complete registration. I do not have any caching plugin. My PHP version is 5.4.43. Please advise.
Thanks!

Hi there,

Can you link us to one of your events so we can view this please?

Also if you add your license key from your account page (use the key that does not end _FREE) within Event Espresso -> General Settings -> ‘Support License Key’.

It will assigned your domain to your account.

Here is the link to an event:

http://jpmf-wp.ransomemultimedia.com/events/session-2-providence-rec-center/

I added the support key as you suggested, but am still getting the error. I enabled error logging in WP and got the following error message:

[01-Dec-2015 20:08:01 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Class ‘Symfony\Component\CssSelector\Parser\Tokenizer\TokenizerPatterns’ not found in /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/third_party_libs/cssinliner/vendor/symfony/css-selector/Symfony/Component/CssSelector/Parser/Tokenizer/Tokenizer.php on line 39

Maybe that will help?

Thanks

Hi Ransome,

I tried a registration with developer tools open and I saw an error:

http://cl.ly/image/0D0d1Q0F462a

The site may be running out of memory during the checkout process. Could you try raising the memory that is available to PHP via your wp-config.php file?

http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

Try adding one of the suggested constants in the link above towards the middle of your wp-config.php file and save changes.

Let us know if that helps!

Lorenzo

I tried increasing memory to 256m and I’m still getting the same error.

I also tried increasing to just 96m in case 256m was too high but that didn’t help either.

Thanks

I also tried disabling all other plugins and switching to default theme and that didn’t help either. I actually read like 40 support forum postings and tried everything I could.

Alright, thanks for sharing what you have tried.

Please keep the constant in the wp-config.php file that raises the memory. The middle is a good spot. If its added at the very end, then it may not be recognized.

Are you using a plugin like WP HTTPS on the site?

No, I’m not using a plugin of that sort.

My hosting company is Bluehost and php version is 5.4.43. Just in case that helps.

Thanks

The error you posted is likely what is causing the problem.

[01-Dec-2015 20:08:01 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Class 'Symfony\Component\CssSelector\Parser\Tokenizer\TokenizerPatterns' not found in /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/third_party_libs/cssinliner/vendor/symfony/css-selector/Symfony/Component/CssSelector/Parser/Tokenizer/Tokenizer.php on line 39

Something that jumps out is the line number does not match my local version. I’ll ask one of our developers for some feedback.

When you installed Event Espresso did you install it via the plugins manager or FTP?

I used FTP

Can you install the latest version of Event Espresso through the plugin manager please?

Created a site backup (just to be safe)

Download the latest version of EE4 from your account page

De-activate and delete the current version you have installed.

Then upload the latest version and re-active.

This is to ensure there wasn’t an issue with the FTP transfer and no files are missing from the server.

OK, I’ll try that. Will all my settings and events be retained?

Yes, all of your settings and events will be saved as they are stored within the database.

We recommend you create a full site backup beforehand just to be safe.

Yes, that indeed solved the problem. I was able to complete registration without any errors. Thank you for your help and prompt attention!

Great, I’m glad that fixed it!

Sometimes FTP uploads can fail and/or skip a file, they can be a little hit and miss. The plugins uploader uploads a single zip and extracts that zip on the server, there is then less chance of missing files 🙂
