This payment is approved – do payments need to be manually applied?

My site has several incomplete (blue shopping cart) transactions.The Gateway response is “This payment is approved” Do I need to hit the “apply payment” button for each transaction? What does the “apply payment” button do? Thanks.

Hi Valerie,

Now you should not need to update the payment manually.

The ‘Apply Payment’ button is for your to manually apply payments made, such as an attendee that paid via cash of bank transfer would need the payment input manually.

Which payment gateway are you using?

Hi Tony, I’m using PP Standard. Not sure why, but now I see several PP transactions have turned Green- completed. Maybe a timing issue. Thanks.

Paypal has recently had some issues with IPN’s being delayed.

So it appears PayPal has ‘caught’ up with itself and started seeing out the IPNs for your payments.

Unfortunately this is one of the issues when using offsite payment gateways such as PayPal Standard. I would recommend using an on-site payment gateway such as PayPal Pro or we recommend Stripe.
