I have several events on one page and assigned each one to a different category, but if you view the page, the add cart and view cart button freaks out, and does not work at all.

What am I doing wrong.

Hi Ryan,

Can you post a link to the page that you’re referring to, and a link to the page that has the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode on it? Also, please check that the main registration page as set in Event Espresso>General Settings>Page settings is set to use the page with the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode.

I’m using the default page the Event Registration page.

I see if you don’t have the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] short code on the page then the buttons don’t work but if you have the short code on the page with the category short code then if works, but then the events are duplicated .

Hello Ryan,

The page with [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] on is mandatory in order for the plugin as a whole to work.

However, you don’t need to use that page. For exam ple you can hide it from your navigation and create new pages using the [EVENT_LIST] shortcode which also takes the category parameter.

If you wanted to use it multiple times ona single page then you can, however it is advised to separate all the events into categories, so that you don’t get the duplicatation issue

e.g.

[EVENT_LIST category_identifier=”category1″]
[EVENT_LIST category_identifier=”category2″]
[EVENT_LIST category_identifier=”category3″]

Cool so I hide the page and made a new one.

I have put this short code on the page [EVENT_ESPRESSO_CATEGORY event_category_id=”closed-session-only-members-1355294940″], but if you still click on the view cart button and it still doesn’t want to work. It seem if I go to the new page it doesn’t work but if i go back to the Event Registration page it works again.

Is there and other way to order the event display page.
I have put the events in reverse so that the last one display first but when you view the page, the order has change completely.

Try using [EVENT_LIST category_identifier=”closed-session-only-members-1355294940″] instead.

Also you can sort the events by using the parameter sort=DESC or sort=ASC for descending and ascending respectively.
