I have an event for website members only. Subsequently I have checked “yes” for the “Force Login for registrations?” option. When the user goes to the event page, they are required to enter username and password and click log-in. The weird thing is they are logged in, but they get directed to the home page, instead of returning to the registration page. It is very confusing for users, and they have to either click the browser back button to the event page (which has now changed to registration details page), or click on the link that was provided via email.
Why would the user not return to the event page after a forced login?
It should automatically return them to the registration page after they log in. Is there another plugin activated that’s set up to redirect somewhere else after logging in?
Hmm, perhaps s2member is interfering. Strange though, it returns to the correct page when someone enters an email that is already on record, and then it forces log-in, and returns to correct page.
Yes, it is S2 that’s interfering, because S2 has a built in feature that redirects the logged in user to a Welcome Screen. If no welcome screen is set, it redirects them to the home page. There must be a way to disable that feature somehow.
The Members page is where S2Member directs logged in users to. I’ve looked in the S2Member settings, and the Login Welcome Page is required. Hmmm, this is a pickle.
You can add the above to a functions plugin or into your WordPress theme’s functions.php file.
