WP Version: 3.8.1
EE Version: 3.1.36.4.P
Installed Add-ons: Calendar, Mailchimp, payments, ticketing, accordion, JSON API
New installation
URL: http://goo.gl/gL02Kd

Okay, first post here. I have installed and setup a few of the plugins. In attempting to test out the mobile applications on an iPhone I was unable to login. After reading some of the support documentation on the API, I utilized the public API URL to see if it was setup correctly.

This is what I get back:

{
“status”: “Not authorized to access that endpoint”,
“status_code”: 403
}

Here’s the URL of that: http://goo.gl/vx5hhL

I don’t see any other documentation on what would cause this, so if anyone has any ideas of troubleshooting I would appreciate it.

Hi Steve,

Are you trying to login to the app with a restricted account or are you using an admin account?

Hi Lorenzo,

I’m trying to login as an administrator with a WordPress user that have administrative privileges. I’m guessing by restricted account you’re referring to an editor or contributor, yes?

Hi Steve,

In your WordPress dashboard can you please go to Event Espresso > API settings and make sure that “Allow Public API Access?” is set to yes and you may also want to increase the “API Session Timeout After” value as well.

And yes Lorenzo meant roles other than Admin, that have less capabilities.
