Hi there,

The test email functionality was originally intended to confirm the templates displayed as expected rather than being for specific events, so it pulls in the first event it can find in the system and uses the details from that.

We don’t currently have a way to pass the event ID over to the test emails to generate with those so the best way test the emails on a specific event is to add a registrant to that event and trigger the notifications.

Go to Event Espresso -> Events -> Registrations.

Click the add new registration button at the top of the page.

Add a registrant using the email address you want to relieve the email.

Now go to Event Espresso -> Events -> {hover over event} -> Registrations and you’ll see a list of registrations for that event.

Now click the checkbox next to that registration, select the status you want to set in the bulk actions dropdown with ‘… and notify’ at the end. So to test a registration approve email select ‘Approved and notify registrations’, then click the apply button.

Or if you are testing the email of the current status the registration is on you can click the to resend the details again.
