Test eventespresso questions

I want to test Eventespresso compared to our current custom online system we use for CPR class registrations. Questions:
1. We print custom certificates for event attendees who successfully complete a course. It’s a custom pdf with up to five names on one sheet that we print.
A. Could Event espresso do that?
B. Could we pay for customization like that? Only those we say completed can have a certificate printed?
C. If not, how can we export the names of attendees who completed the course so our current system (php with mysql database) could print the certificates.

2. I see your test drive options, but we need to a real world test to see how it handles actual registrations through our website.
A. Is it possible to test this out where the register link on our site goes to Eventespresso to test out actual registrations?
B. If so, is it possible to setup some events with custom questions, get the checkout setup with our payment processor, etc. But test the flow first before “publishing” and having it go live on our site for registrations? Just so we can work out the kinks before letting students register and run into problems?

3. We plan on also switching to Infusionsoft CRM and integrating with eventespresso. Do we need to pay for the plugin during trial period?

If I wasn’t clear enough just let me know and I’ll try harder!

Thanks!

Jason

Hi Jason,

Thank you for contacting us! We appreciate your interest in Event Espresso. Please see my answers to your questions below.

1. We print custom certificates for event attendees who successfully complete a course. It’s a custom pdf with up to five names on one sheet that we print.
A. Could Event espresso do that?
Event Espresso doesn’t currently do this out of the box.

B. Could we pay for customization like that? Only those we say completed can have a certificate printed?
One of our third party pro-developers could develop something for you. Feel free to contact them here: https://eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/

C. If not, how can we export the names of attendees who completed the course so our current system (php with mysql database) could print the certificates.
All of the event and attendee data can be exported into an Excel file from within the dashboard.

2. I see your test drive options, but we need to a real world test to see how it handles actual registrations through our website.

We offer several methods to evaluate our products: Event Espresso Lite, Pre-sales Forum, free Test-drive, and a Full Test-drive.

3. We plan on also switching to Infusionsoft CRM and integrating with eventespresso. Do we need to pay for the plugin during trial period?
If you purchase the Full Test Drive option, we will install WordPress, Event Espresso, and any add-ons you would like to test. We don’t offer a trial of the full version to install on your server.

Let me know if you have anymore questions. I’ll be happy to answer them.

Hi,

Thanks for the follow up!

2. With the full test drive, can we have students register with credit cards to see how that process works and how the data shows up in the admin?

New question: Can an event be private, so it’s not publicized on the schedule page for site visitors to see? Or we can restrict who sees it? We do private classes at homes and businesses that aren’t for the public, but we still want to add attendees and manage the event. Possible?

Thanks!

Jason

Hi Jason,

We don’t recommend using the full test drive for actual registration. We normally delete the installation and database after 30 days. Have you thought about using a testing account for your payment gateway? That is how we run through tests while developing Event Espresso.

We do have functionality that allows you to set up Members’ Only events. This requires the WP User Integration add-on that is included in the Business and Developer license packages, or can be purchased separately with the Personal license package. However, these events will still show on the event list and calendar. You can, however, categorize your events and only list events in certain categories.

Let me know if you have anymore questions. I’ll be happy to answer them.

Hi Jonathan,

We have public classes in two different cities. Currently we have a landing page for each city. Each landing page has the schedule just for events in that city so visitors don’t accidentally register for a the wrong location. Can we still do it this way?

And private events would still be viewable in the calendar no matter what?

One solution for both the landing pages and the calendar is to use categories. You can use the category attribute on both the event list and calendar shortcodes.
