In wp dashboard -EE – Templates, I came across this last night:
In order to use this feature, you will need to move the files located in the /home1/yep1/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates/ directory into the /home1/yep1/public_html/wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/ directory.
The permissions on your templates directory are incorrect.
In order for the system to see your files, you need to set the permissions to 775 on the following directory.
I went into filezilla to look at the permissions in wp-content -uploads – Espresso, which were 755 ok – but the template folder has renamed itself to:
templates-2013-11-10-14-33-54.
Why has this happened and what do I need to do to it?
If that button is clicked it renames the template folder as described in your post. It is for testing if modified templates are causing issues by removing them from the equation (renaming the folder stops them loading)
If you would like to use templates again just rename the folder back to ‘templates’
Have you used Securi or anything similar recently?
Ah, thank you! I was looking at that a couple of days ago, and pretty sure I did (hesitantly) click that button. I thought that nothing had happened and decided to leave well alone …but now I understand what did happen ๐ Many thanks Tony.
Its a tough one as most users only make small changes to the templates, so often don’t notice anything has changed initially.
