Hello,

We’re preparing to build out an event management system on our site and have gotten the EE4 groundwork in place to get started.

In running some initial tests, we’ve encountered the following issue:

When changing the Event Slug to anything other than ‘events-espresso’ we get the following error when trying to view events:

No configuration section has been provided while attempting to save “_Config”. EE_Config – _verify_config_params – 538

When the slug is changed back to ‘events-espresso,’ everything appears to work fine.

Any help with this issue would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi there,

May I ask did you change the slug to something other than “event”? The default is “events” so anything other than the singular form of the slug, “event”, should work.

Thanks for the lightning quick response!

I changed the slug to something other than ‘event’ and it worked fine. For future reference and other users who might run into this issue, it might be great to document, for a couple of reasons, one being that ‘event’ seems an obvious slug to use and the error just on that one slug could be crazymaking…

The other, we’re currently running Events Manager on the site as well (we’ll probably be dropping that as we expand functionality and bring it all under EE4). But for now, we’re using the Events Manager to carry our legacy events as we’ve been running it for the last year and a half or so. Events Manager also uses the slug ‘events’ and breaks when the EE4 slug is made to be ‘events.’ I imagine that’s not a big issue as probably few people out there are running both Events Manager and EE4 on the same sites, but for those who are, it might be useful to know that this is the cause of their woes.

Anyway, thanks for helping us resolve the issue.

Thanks.
