how do you get the event list and event details to look decent? right now the details are coming up in the main screen and on top of the sidebar. i don’t want the same information in the sidebar. I would like to have the title, date, time, and venue on top of the description. If i put in a featured image, i don’t want it to be a massive size and the description hardly readable. why can’t you provide some basic templates that can be viewed and easily customized.

Hi,

I assume you are using EE4? If so EE4 uses the themes templates for event display as events are Custom Post Types.

We have supplied a child theme for the Twentyfourteen theme within the plugin, but creating templates that will will mesh with an unknown theme is quite difficult which is why we have made it so it inherits theme styles.

If you wanted to you could create a page template for the events – https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-themes-templates/

Creating any template for WordPress does require , HTML, PHP and CSS knowledge.

If you can provide a link to your site we can see if there is any advice we can give.

http://wilcoxhealingcenter.com
there is a link to events on the main menu which is producing the event lists. I’m not thrilled with that either. Would it be better to create a different events page and use shortcode for lists so i can have other content on that page?

there is an event that you can click on to see details.
I will pay for priority support if i know i can get these issues taken care of for me. please let me know.

Hello,

I found your event list page here: http://wilcoxhealingcenter.com/events/

Does your theme have any options for adjusting how archive pages are displayed or any option to turn off excerpts?

i would have to ask the theme developer and he has not been terribly responsive. I can ask the guy helping me with development but i don’t know about his skills – i can ask him.

Hello,

This looks like the option:

Could you try turning off Auto excerpts through your Wp-admin –> Theme Options Panel –> Blog.

I did that Lorenzo but it looks the same. if i could get the event list and details to use the blog category called events, then i could exclude that category and it might work. is that possible?

Updating the options for you theme looks like a two step process. Did you turn those excerpts off with the toggle and then scroll down and save changes?

I tried it and it didn’t make any different. the theme developer said it wasn’t a good idea. He suggested the child theme. I need to find someone who knows how to do that.

Hi Ruth,

I think this is something I can correct through your WordPress admin.

Could you please create a temporary WordPress admin login so I can take a closer look at this issue?

Please share that temporary login through the secure link below:
