Hi, can someone please tell me where the tempalte files are for the event pages and for the widget in Espresso 4? Apparently they are not where the tutorial says thanks |
Hi Cara, We recently released an updated version so that page needs to be updated. What is the link for that tutorial page? In 4.4.x, they are located here: wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/public/Espresso_Arabica_2014 Thanks — |

Hi, thank you fro your response. What is the template that controls the single event details? is it single-espresso_events.php? I am not sure because I have been trying to edit that template and nothing changes. thanks |
Hi Cara, The first part of the content-espresso_events.php template controls the single event view. You’ll need to make sure you copy it over to your theme to prevent it from being overwritten on a plugin update. Along with that, you’ll need to add a single-espresso_events.php template to your theme that loads the content-espresso_events.php file. |

Hi Josh, thank you for that however I am a little confused for two reasons thank yuo |
Hi, Its possible that the file isn’t in the correct location. They can be found here: wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/public/Espresso_Arabica_2014 They’ll need to be copied from the location above and added here: wp-content/themes/yourthemefolder Then you can begin editing the files. archive-espresso_events.php is used for the event listing page. single-espresso_events.php is used for the single event page. Try first moving them over and let us know if anything happens (you should see events even if the styling appears different). — |

Hi Cara, It might also help to explain that the Event Espresso plugin does not use the single-espresso_events.php template. It’s there to show an example of how to build a theme system. That’s why when you change or delete it doesn’t do anything. That’s why you need to create a new template in your theme, name it single-espresso_events.php. You can base it off of the single-espresso_events.php file included in the EE4 plugin, but you’ll need to change the markup structure to match your theme. If your theme is twentyfourteen, no changing is necessary though. |
