Where can I find someone that’s familiar with Event Espresso and able to setup Stripe as my website’s payment gateway?

Hi Bill,

That’s an interesting question. Is this about the Event Espresso 4 Stripe add-on plugin? I just want to sure we’re on the same page when it comes to the Stripe plugin install.

Generally speaking we recommend the administrator of the website do the plugin install. The Stripe plugin can be installed just like any other WordPress plugin, so no prior experience with Event Espresso would be required.

Once the plugin is installed and activated, the individual with the Stripe account can follow this guide to connect the site to their Stripe account:

Hi Josh,
Yes, this is regarding the install of the Stripe plugin. My concern is that I already have Authorize.net setup on our website to accept credit card payments. So I’m not sure if the plugin will require additional coding to add Stripe and remove Aurthorize.net for credit card processing. My knowledge of coding is limited. Your feedback will be appreciated. Best, Bill

Hi Bill,

My concern is that I already have Authorize.net setup on our website to accept credit card payments.

Do you mean Event Espresso is already setup to use Auth.net?

So I’m not sure if the plugin will require additional coding to add Stripe and remove Aurthorize.net for credit card processing.

EE should not normally need any coding at all for either Auth.net or Stripe payment methods.

To give you a rough overview of what would need to be done:

1. Download the Stripe add-on from your account page to your computer.

2. On the site go Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add New -> Upload plugin and then select the file you just downloaded to upload.

3. Activate the Stripe payment method add-on plugin.

4. In Event Espresso -> Payment methods you’ll now have a ‘Stripe’ payment method. Activate that and provide your Stripe details in its setting page – http://take.ms/Ziimz

5. De-activate the Auth.net payment method, there’s a button for this at the bottom of each payment method on your site – http://take.ms/uPfEo

6. Test a registration and confirm it works with Stripe.

EE is designed to allow you to use multiple payment methods at the same time and/or activate and de-activate payment methods quickly and easily, there should be no code required at all unless whoever set up the site has done something very strange.

If that sounds like something you would like to try yourself we can help with steps you are unsure of on the forums and in worse case scenario where there is an issue (I doubt there will be) if you purchase a support token (if required) we can step in a fix it.

Would that work better for you?

Thanks Tony!
Based on the information that you’ve provided, I think I can manage installing the Stripe plugin and setup myself. Your support is highly appreciated.
Best, Bill

You’re most welcome, please do let us know if you run into any problems.

I should have also linked you to this wiki:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/stripe-payment-gateway/

Which steps you through setting up the Stripe payment method itself.
