HI,

What version of EE4 are you using? I am seeing $115.47 in both places – http://take.ms/MebNM

The run down is that the first tax is applied to the $100, the second tax is then applied to the $105.

I can see that this might not be ideal in some situations, so I will raise a discussion about this.

In the mean time, you could combine the taxes in one so TPS/GST & TVQ/QST 14.97%

Hi Dean, the second tax does not apply to the $105 but applies to the $100 http://www.revenuquebec.ca/en/entreprise/taxes/tvq_tps/

Right tax calculation:$100+$5.00+$9.98=$114.98

thanks
Martin

Hi Martin,

I understand that, but the system doesn’t resolve taxes that way, which is why I have opened an internal discussion about it.

In the meantime the only effective way to resolve it would be to combine the taxes into a single surcharge.

Sorry Dean, I misunderstood.
In your system, are all taxes calculated for the provinces in Canada done this way? “first tax is applied to the $100, the second tax is then applied to the $105.”?

Hi Martin,

I’m currently in discussion with a developer on this as there might be (I’m not 100% sure yet) a bug in the way this is calculated.

As far as I can tell so far, what should happen is that if the price modifiers have the same “weight” (see Pricing > Price Types tab), then they will be applied to the previous value at the same time.

Percent based price modifiers have a weight of 40, so 2 of them should be applying at the same time (e.g. $100 ticket, + 5% + 10% = $115).

Right now that doesn’t seem to be happening as the figures are off. As mentioned I’m still discussing this with the team to clarify if this is a bug or a misunderstanding of how the price modifiers are applied.

I’ll get back to you as soon as I know more.

As mentioned previously, if you add a single price modifier of 14.97% it will at least provide the correct figure for you in the short term while we resolve this.
