I have events happening across Canada and need to charge different tax amounts depending on which province the event is happening in.
For example, an event in Ontario is charged HST at 13% but an event in British Columbia is only charged 5% GST. Some provinces have GST & PST (Government Sales Tax and Provincial Sales Tax), some have combined HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) and the amounts differ from province to province.
I cannot seem to figure out how to set this up though. I tried setting up a Regional Tax item, but it doesn’t let me select a province to tie it into. I’m hoping someone can help me out with this.

Hi there,
You can actually use the price modified feature to handle the different tax amounts. So when you go to set up tickets for an event, instead of checking the box that says “This ticket is taxable”, you click on “Add Price Modifier” then select the Percent surcharge. There you can add more than one price modifier for that ticket.

I tried that and it shows the “taxes” in the base ticket price, which I’m not a huge fan of.
For example, tickets are $125 + 5% GST = 131.25 total.
I want to show that tickets are $125 instead of the $131.25
Is there a way to remove the price modifier from the ticket amount until they see the total, like how taxes are calculated in?
