In Germany we have to show tax which is included like this:
Example >
(Price incl. 7% tax) 24 EUR has to be shown at registering point, before final payment step.
Later the price on invoice has to show both amounts: price without tax and the amount of tax followed by the sum total.
Is there any help, right now there is setup the tax but nowhere to see

Hi there,

If you click on the show details link in the ticket selector table it shows the price breakdown, but you can also add the text “Price incl. 7% tax” in the Ticket’s description if you want to make sure that’s there too.

The default invoice template does indeed have a separate section for the tax amount and the total. If you’ve removed any of the sections from the Invoice template while editing, you can reset the invoice template and it will bring those back.

Thank you – How can i organize tax incl. – otherwise I do have to calculate price of the ticket before i can start an event, would be very efficient to write endprice into ticketfield as gross and not net price.

Another question, how to use different tax categories, it happens for some reason in german law, for 19% and 7% for special events.

Hello,

Are you trying to change the pricing that is show by default in the ticket selector?

Multiple tax rates at once at not supported as tax option in the ticket selector will apply an enabled taxes.

No, not at once, just try to change from event to event a different tax rate, for one event 7% for another event 19%. Not possible?

All in all i am afraid to say, that espresso has powerful tools, but hard to understand, as usability for users is not focused but all over the place with no linear concept and missing visual logic. Many details are codes or workarounds. It takes too much time to get a clear understanding – even tons of docs are good, but only like a mosaic. At any part i try to work on, more questions arise as being answered. For many descriptions i miss a screenshots, which are very rare and are more helpful with less text. Most of the time i do not understand which specific feature how to find.
Even an overview with example out of realworld would be best, i wish to see with an concrete project from step 1 to the very end, without all possibilities in the first place. Try and error is my daily work on this project right now, as docs are not straight through for me.

Right now no email with ticket for user to print is being sent – do not know why and where to fix…

The invoice is showing still 15% taxrate, but zero amount, the ticket price in the event section has 7% and the correct amount – I am still confused about logic here…

Hello,

Here is an example of what I’m referring to:

Event ABC and Event XYZ would need to have the same tax option.

You cannot set a different tax rate for each event above since the tax options that are set trigger the tax rate that are in the pricing screen for Event Espresso 4.

What is the rate for the tax in Event Espresso –> Pricing?

I did delete all tables, checked all espresso plugins and started installing again – and configuration for pricing is set to 7 %.
Now the price list is showing only two items, Free Admission id:1 and tax with 7% and id:2
So i understand here, i can setup more item, so i did another taxrate with 19% but the systems is adding both to any event ticket price.
So i am confused what this price area is all about, do not get it.

Again, do you say it is not possible to setup one event to taxrate 7% and another event with all related tickets to taxrate 19%?

Anyway, what is the purpose of different price items and how does it work. Sorry, but this is not clear enough to me. How can I realize my needs?
Why is there no usability, everything is made from programmeres for programmers…

Hello,

Starting over isn’t necessary. We ask questions when we are not sure how something is setup on your site so we can share feedback.

This is not currently possible:

Again, do you say it is not possible to setup one event to taxrate 7% and another event with all related tickets to taxrate 19%?

The Pricing screen holds default price options that are used in various areas of Event Espresso including the ticket selector and the promotions add-on.

What do you have set for the Federal Tax in Event Espresso –> Pricing?

The taxable option is what enables any tax options that have been created in Event Espresso –> Pricing:

It can be found by clicking on the gear (advanced options) area of Event Espresso.

Thank you, we setup Sales Tax to 7% and enabled it at ticket price. This does add on the give price.
I am wondering, there is no logic like common shop functions, which is not only one taxrate. And price should be able to have the choice, to give net or gross price to add the tax. Regulations in different countries need to show price incl. Tax ect. which all is possible only with espresso workarounds. I am wondering nobody else ever asked for the integrations like shop standards, for which i know that this can´t match any country.

For what purpose is this – Taxable Ticket Toggle?

Is there any other customer on your site, which is using the system in Germany and do not have problems with tax status with only one possibility? Maybe there is a workaround solution.

My idea is, for certain events to not using taxable the event, but to put somehow a fee as 19% (general price config is setup to 7%, what in most cases is the fact). But we do not understand how different price status is taking effect and how this works, the docs again, do not help us in depth. What kind of managing is setting up rabatt or other addons prices by different amount for sorting in steps of 10,20,30… is there any practise for this we can follow in real world?

The order of price types applying is not clear how this works. How can this take effect to precise calculation? Example show “Order of Application” = 70 Thats is all we found – do not get it.

Hi there,

You can use the surcharge price modifier for the events that are not taxable. Please note that the Help tab on the Pricing admin page includes this information about taxes:

Tax
Taxes are a special price type. While you can view the value of a tax price on a single ticket in the event editor, taxes are only applied to the cart total after all other modifiers have been added or subtracted from the base price.
