Is there a way to add MailChimp tags to a contact when they register for our events? I’m not seeing this ability in the MailChimp add-on.
We’re trying to maintain a single audience for all of our events, but a customer might register for multiple of them and we want to trigger an automation email every time they sign up for an event.
We have a multi-select “Location” group on our audience to track what event the user is registered. Event Espresso adds the registrant to that group.
The problem we’re running into is that we don’t have the ability to use all 20 of these events as a trigger on a single automated Customer Journey.
I suppose creating a Customer Journey API trigger is a potential alternative solution, but I didn’t know how easy it would be to hook into an event registration.
I think we’re going to instead make a second group designating the relevant year and add the registrant to both groups. Then we can use that single year’s group to trigger our email automation.
We don’t have an option to add tags, but it sounds like you are going to use an additional group within the audience and no longer needs tags? You can setup Audience in mailchimp.
