Hi,

I just installed the swedish language files to the Event Espresso lite version. Even though strings are translated the website still doesn´t show them correctly such as:

First page on registration

Event Name:
Price per attendee:
Attendee Name:
Total Price:
First Name
Last Name
Email:

Confirmation page:
First Name*
Last Name*
Email*

I run: WP 3.6 and event espresson lite 3.1.35.L

Greatful for help!

Kind regards,

Mikael

Can you provide a link to your site? And to confirm you are using the files here: https://github.com/eventespresso/languages/blob/master/event_espresso-sv_SE.po and have the language set in wp-config.php to sv_SE? Are any of the EE translated strings coming through as translated, or just some of them?

Hi Sidney,

I´ve used thesse files…
https://github.com/eventespresso/languages/blob/master/event_espresso-sv_SE.po

http://mikaelspetz.com/?page_id=433
wp-config.php is set to sv_SE

Some of the are coming through its clear here or if you register an event
http://mikaelspetz.com/?page_id=433&ee=2

Seems really strange. I´ve opened the .po file and First name and Last name etc is translated in the file…

/Mikael

There are 2 things you can do (if I’m right about the cause). First, you could go through the questions in the admin and resave them with the questions translated. Second, you could go into includes/functions/form_build.php and modify line 34 to be:

$label = '<label for="' . $XATT1 . $field_name . $XATT2 . '" class="' . $class . '">' . trim( stripslashes( str_replace( '&#039;', "'", __($question->question) ))) . $required_label . '</label> ';

That should translate the question.

Hi Sidney,

The form_build.php has the data you describes already. Is there another way so the .po file could be used instead.

Also “General Admission” is translated in the .po file still it doesn´t show…

If I buy one of the paid licensces is the tranlsation working better then or is it the same?

/Mikael

Hi,

Event Espresso Lite and Premium use the same code core and translation files.

From What I can see it looks like you have some Questions that need to be translated in the Questions editor (they are not done by the language files). Other than that the Swedish translation simply isn’t complete.

If you are wanting to assist us by expanding on the translation, we are always looking for new translators and validators https://eventespresso.com/features/languages/#form

If you haven’t already you can check out his guide on how to change the language files https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-change-wording-with-poedit/

General Admission in the language file refers to a Premium plugin file. However, it shouldnt require PO translation as it is a ticket type and can be changed in the Event Editor.
