Hi,

We did receive your support token form, but I’m afraid the FTP information you sent is invalid. Can you get the correct information and resend? Also, can you send along a brief note that outlines how we can help you today? For example, we could install the core Event Espresso 4 plugin as well as the add-ons available from your account, but we’ll need to know which plugins you’d like to be installed.

FTP server address, username, & password is usually sufficient. If it’s a non-standard port, then it helps to have the port number too.

With regards to the add-ons, while you have access to all the add-ons, not all add-ons can be installed on the same site. For example, the Multi Event Registration add-on is not compatible with the Payment Methods Pro add-on. If you can send a list of which add-ons you intend to use we can install those after we get the correct FTP information.

ok thanks, I have asked for that info.

Although I dont understand the function of the add ons to be able to tell you what I need – I can tell you that I will be having multiple events listed within my wordpress site – I dont neccessarily need people to be able to register to multiple events, I think that would rarely happen. What does payment methods pro enable?

hi Josh, Worpress is telling me this :

“We’re sorry, but Event Espresso requires PHP version 5.4.0 or greater in order to operate. You are currently running version 5.2.17.
In order to update your version of PHP, you will need to contact your current hosting provider.”

The Payment Methods Pro add-on will allow you to set up a specific payment account for a specific event. For example if the payments for one event need to go to one Stripe account, then payments for another event got to another Stripe account, you can set that up with Payment Methods Pro.

With regards to the PHP requirement message you saw: That means Event Espresso cannot be installed on the site because the site has a version of PHP (it’s a programming language) that’s not compatible with Event Espresso 4. Usually the host will be glad to update to at least PHP 5.6 because older versions of PHP are not secure anyway.

I am going to migrate my wordpress site to a new hosting account in the next few days – is it better to wait to get plugins active or is there things we can get ready in the meantime?

I have another question: I create a draft event in event decaf when it was active – then when I logged in next decaf was in active and the event draft is gone – and all the details that took hours.. is there any chance of retrieving it? decaf is deactivated now that I have event espresso premium installed.

Hi,

I checked into this since we have access to the WordPress dashboard, and your draft is still there with the regular version activated. You’ll find the draft event in Event Espresso > Events.

is it better to wait to get plugins active or is there things we can get ready in the meantime?

I would say it is better to wait because that will be fewer things to move over to the new host. Please do let us know when you’re ready.

The above works. I can go ahead and install the popular add-ons that are bundled with the Everything license. These include:

Stripe Payment Gateway
Events Calendar add-on
Events Table View Template
Events Grid View Template
Promotions and Discount Codes
Attendee Mover
Wait List Manager
Printable Tickets
Barcode Scanner
Event App Customization
People Admin
Events Social Sharing Integration

If you also want any of the add-ons listed below, please let us know and we can add any of those too:

Multiple Event Registration — allows people to be able to register to multiple events in one transaction
WP User Integration — allows for requiring people to log in to the site before they register for an event
MailChimp Integration — if you use MailChimp for mailing lists, this helps add people to your lists when they register events
Infusionsoft Integration — Useful if you have an Infusionsoft account
AffiliateWP Integration — Useful if your site uses AffiliateWP. Your site doesn’t have AffiliateWP

Thanks Josh.

I am trying to now launch an event – I am having a few problems.

I used to use events calendar as a drop down tab on the home page to list all events at a glance. – how do I do that with event espresso please?

secondly – I did a test publish of the event and it dissapears – I can only see it when its in draft form – please can you help remedy these things asap as I need to launch within 48 hours.

Some more info on above – I just tried to republish it. It thinks for a long time then gives an error message saying it has redirected too many times. it is ok in draft form .

Ive worked out how to embed the event espresso calendar on a tab/page on the homepage – but I am still having issues with publishing the actual event – so it doesnt show in the calendar.

Hi Billa,

If you deactivate all plugins except Event Espresso does the “too many redirects” error still happen? If so, can you send up to date log in information via the secure form on this page so we can investigate further?

Update: We still have what you sent earlier for access, and I was able to log in and found the problem. The problem was there were single quote marks input into the custom permalinks field in WP > Settings > Permalinks.

Those have been removed, and your event publishes as expected now.
