I am trying to upgrade but I am getting this message: “An automatic update for Event Espresso is available but your Support License Key is invalid. Either you have entered the wrong key on the Event Espresso General Settings page (EE3+ users) or Your Organization Settings page (EE4+ users) OR you no longer have access to the updates for this plugin. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys or purchase a support license right now.” When I go to my account, I am seeing a valid licence key (I renewed yesterday). What can I do?

Hi there, The first thing to do is make sure you only have Event Espresso 4 add-ons active. If any EE3 add-ons are activated, they’ll cause the error you’re seeing. If you continue to see the invalid key message, you can go to your account page and request a free key reset and we’ll reset your key. |

Hi Catherine, I’ve deactivated the old support license key and created a new one. Could you try the new one out? https://eventespresso.com/users/maslmd/#account-settings It can be copied and pasted into the general settings page for Event Espresso within your WP dashboard. — |

Done. I am still getting an error message when I try to update so when I go back to my account, I saw this message at the bottom “Not currently activated on any websites” under the support key license. Am I missing a step? It looks like I am still on EE3 but should I be on EE4? |
Can you go to the WP Plugins and let us know which version number of Event Espresso is activated? This will help us to investigate. |

Hi Catherine, the problem is that your support license is for Event Espresso 4 but you are using Event Espresso 3. We can help you determine the version that is best for your project needs and if needed adjust your account and that will enable support services again.
