Suggested server settings when preparing for large group registrations?

To properly manage large group registrations, 20 to 50 attendees, what should the server settings be, such as what should the max_input_vars limit be set to on the server?

Are there any other server settings I should be aware of so as to avoid error messages for registration submissions.

Once a person has entered more than 20 attendee details the last thing he’d want is to have to re-enter them.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi,

In this case we recommend duplicating your current site into a staging area and testing out registering a large group in several web browsers (see http://browsehappy.com).

You can then raise max_input_vars and the memory available to PHP as needed.

For a starting point, try 3000 for max_input_vars and raise the memory to 128M.

Again, this will depend on if its a group registration with just attendee names & email or if that includes other questions so it would be best to run some testing and go from there.

I had our techs increase the server max_input_vars and raised the PHP memory allocation.

The first test worked great.

The registration checkout page does not hang now, like it was before. The first test was fine, email confirmations sent properly and everything worked well, but we did not receive any of the email confirmations on our second test (the second test I included more attendee/registrant info than the first test, so the registrations were “larger” than the first test).

Any suggestions on non-delivery of confirmation emails?

Thank you!

Brandon

Disregard that last post… I found the emails. It seems to be working properly now.

I will still need to test the credit card checkout, but using a Purchase-Order/Check as payment option works fine.

Thank you very much for your help with this!

Brandon
