Successful PayPal payments sporadically marked Incomplete

So far we have had over 50 successful PayPal payments, so I know that in general things are working ok. But we have also had at least two payments where we received the payment success confirmation email from PayPal, but the payment is still marked as incomplete in EE (after several days).

My first thought was that the IPN messages did not come through, but I checked the IPN logs and for both of those payments there is a “success” entry, and as far as I can tell everything about the IPN log entry for those two looks like all the others. So I can’t figure out why EE didn’t set the payment status as complete.

Any ideas?

Hi Rob,

It might be timing out if the notify_url page takes too long to respond. You can speed things up there by installing the Simplified page template that can be downloaded here:
