Hi – we’re using EventEspresso version 3.1.29.1.P, having been using it without problem for a number of months and suddenly the theme has changed to a grey looking one. Nothing I do in the GUI seems to make any difference to reverting it back to ui-lightness Am I doing something wrong? I’m the administrator, there is one other administrator and she hasn’t changed anything? Paul |

Oh, an example of the problem can be seen here: |

Thats quite strange, lightness isnt even the default Themeroller theme, it should be smoothness. When you change it in the settings does it not save? Also I would strongly suggest upgrading to get added features and fix some bugs. |

Hi Dean – thanks for your quick response! Under EE > Template Settings > Stylesheet options I have: – Use Themeroller Styles = Yes I can change and save options and it is remembered on the admin page, but it makes no difference to the display pages. I’ve been avoiding updates because I didn’t want anything like this to happen lol! Paul |

Have you added any new plugins/theme recently? Have you updated any other plugins/themes recently? If so, you could try temporarily disabling the plugins/change theme to default to see if it is those that are affecting it. Currently I can see no other reason except an outside influence, as I haven’t seen this issue before (I started here when 3.1.27 was released so I have seen the full life cycle of 3.1.29) |

Ok, updated to 3.1.34.1.P still same issue. Last plugins I played with yesterday were: Created a WP Simple Survey and a few pages to go with that, nothing special. I started updating plugins, but only updated Anti-SPAM and removed a couple – didn’t get past items starting with C. I’ve now added WP Changes Tracker to monitor this… Is there a way I can force it to use another theme, I’ve tried removing all but the theme I want from: Where does it pick up this default grey theme from – just want it to be forced to use ui-lightness? Thanks Paul |

looks like the grey is coming from http://www.citi.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-simple-survey/css/ui.theme.css line 15, on the event title “Managing complex projects”. You could modify those style rules to more specificity to exclude them from being used on EE elements, or modify the EE style sheets to more specificity to override those coming from the wordpress-simple-survey style sheets. |

Hi Sidney – well done for spotting that, thanks! I’m nearly there now, disabled the other stylesheet and reverted back to themeroller “Start” theme (have another instance of EventEspresso on an offline server with the previous settings intact, so I copied them!). One thing though, how do I switch from the blue theme to orange? I’ve used the background image on other areas/sites to match – how do I get it to use the e14f1c colour and ui-bg_gloss-wave_45_e14f1c_500x100.png background tile. Thanks Paul |
That sounds like the “Start” theme option. You can get a preview of the options here: |
