I have been informed by a number of prospective students that when they attempt to register they get a notification that there is a critical error on the website.

My web administrator downloaded the large error log found within cPanel >> File Manager >> public_html >> Error_log, it looks like this is being caused by the error and plugin below:

Message: The “” class is not an instance of EE_Config_Base.
Code: EE_Config – _verify_config_params – 682
File: /home/paladinr/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/EE_Config.core.php
Line No: 682

This has obviously occurred as a result of the upgrade and it has the potential to cost me a significant amount of business if it is not fixed ASAP.

Here is the link to one of the courses affected: https://paladinrisk.com.au/courses/10712nat-diploma-of-risk-management-and-business-continuity-self-paced-distance-option/

Hi there,

The latest updates to Event Espresso did not make any changes to the config or any of the code around the checks done for the above error.

.41 allowed HTML within Event Category Descriptions and fixed an issue with the iFrame output and the template file used to display the iFrames.

.42 fixed an issue within our plugin update engine which could prevent add-ons from showing updates without being forced to do an update check.

I wouldn’t expect either of those to cause the above error, that error is basically saying EE expected X object but was given ‘nothing’. It is strange that your getting that error on some of your events but not others, is there any obvious difference between the event showing the error above and a working event?

For example, does that Event have a ‘person’ assigned to it and the working vent does not?

We may need to add some debug code to the check above to see if we can get some more info on what is being passed to the check throwing the error, right now it appears to be nothing but we may be able to backtrace that to see why nothing is being passed.
