We had this site set up by a staff member that is not longer at the company. I have several strange issues I can’t figure out:

  • Why does the header/logo/nav on our site sometimes not display? It’s there on the home page, but when a person clicks REGISTER, it goes away.<br>our home page looks nice, but when you click the Registration button, the logo/header and nav go missing???
  • The ajax error popups only seem to show for admins. The people registering for my event are the folks that need the error popups, and not registered WordPress users and therefore not LOGGED IN.<br>To see this, go to the Registration page and click Register now without specifying a ticket. It’s supposed to popup an error, but it doesn’t (unless I’m logged into the Admin… then it does.
  • Our form fields are all too spaced out and buttons are strangely formatted (colors are wrong and really don’t even look like buttons).<br>WHen you finally do get to the registration page, it’s a spacey mess!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

our home page looks nice, but when you click the Registration button, the logo/header and nav go missing???

The majority of the output there is controlled by your theme, the header section certainly is so its based on whatever your theme is doing there.

I can see you have a custom theme for the site, are there any template files in there with ‘espresso’ in the name?

The ajax error popups only seem to show for admins. The people registering for my event are the folks that need the error popups, and not registered WordPress users and therefore not LOGGED IN.
To see this, go to the Registration page and click Register now without specifying a ticket. It’s supposed to popup an error, but it doesn’t (unless I’m logged into the Admin… then it does.

That’s likely something set up on the site itself, usually a security plugin blocking all admin requests. The admin requests go to:

https://connect.topechelon.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

Which I can see is loading (it should just show a 0) and I’m not logged in.

But… I can’t test this as your site currently has no active tickets.

Can you edit the event and set the Ticket Sale start date for your current ticket to be a date in the past so it opens up for registration?

Its done in this section: https://monosnap.com/file/DleVBnQtt5FzexFPqwCODuVYmo7cm2

Our form fields are all too spaced out and buttons are strangely formatted (colors are wrong and really don’t even look like buttons).
WHen you finally do get to the registration page, it’s a spacey mess!

The registration form is built based on your current session, so I can’t view yours; that link just takes me to a ‘Nothing in your event queue’ error (expected).

If you enable the ticket above I’ll take a look.

Ugh! Sorry about that Tony! The ticket DATES were correct, the TIMES were a couple of hours out of whack!

All set now if you can take a look!

The ajax error popups only seem to show for admins.

Which ajax error are you referring to? EE is showing the ajaz responses I’m expecting to see, e.g:

https://monosnap.com/file/TqXXUZhNCg62njLpBvCcMTG1FyDab9

Our form fields are all too spaced out and buttons are strangely formatted (colors are wrong and really don’t even look like buttons).
WHen you finally do get to the registration page, it’s a spacey mess!

In short, the majority of this is being set by your theme, and its intentional changes made using CSS.

Can you add some more specific details? The buttons look correct to me, but I have no idea about. I’m assuming you want those to go more with your branding, but in terms of buttons being buttons, etc, they all look correct.

The spacing is intention with the CSS used in the theme, I can advise you how to change that but need more specific details on how you want it to look.
