Hi!

I edited a transaction to add Notes/Accounting and it triggered a new email Payment Received.

How can I stop this behavior?

We want to be able to add admin notes to the transaction without notifying the customer.

Regards,
Dan

Hi Dan,

You need to uncheck the related messages section before saving the update:

If you are updating a payment the ‘Payment Messages’ checkbox will be enabled, uncheck that before saving to prevent the payment related messages from sending.

Aha! I did it quickly and did not notice that checkbox.

Thanks!

BTW, is there a way to default that to “unchecked” when a payment is being edited vs. first created?

Sure, you can do it with some jQuery:

Wow! This is great – very helpful. My admin staff are going to be very happy to hear about this update.

Note: I had to add a closing function bracket to the gist.
