Still issues with attendee limit per slot per day problems

Today we encountered this very same problem with the company I work for https://eventespresso.com/topic/attendee-limit-per-slot-per-day-problems/

We were able to reproduce the following issue “While that registration was still in progress, someone else may have started and finished another registration for the same event. Once the other finishes, that could lead to a double booking.” Any timeframe when this will be fixed? This seems like a pretty big gap and could have serious consequences. We are running version 3.1.27.1.P.

This has been a known issue for quite some time. There isn’t a check that happens on the submit action for whether the event is still open, so if the submit was hit after the event was filled, it could lead to overbooking. Many venues/events leave some tickets held back for their own use, so if you set the maximum number of attendees to 10 less than the total capacity, you’d be less likely to overbook. Obviously this isn’t going to work for everyone, but for events that sell out quickly you could do that in conjunction with a waiting list event and then contact individuals on the waiting list and process their registration individually (when the site isn’t so busy or by doing it manually) to fill up the event. This isn’t likely to be addressed until after the next major release of Event Espresso.
