State Sales Tax

So, NJ’s new sales tax is 6.625%. I’m trying to change that in EE, but it keeps rounding up to 6.3….and, that’s breaking the law. The tax rate is not 6.3.

Can you please help us make sure that we are charging the right amount for tax?

Hi there,

While some payment gateways may handle the rounding of the final price differently, you can set your site to the following to handle a 6.625% rate:

1) You go to Event Espresso > General Settings > Countries and set the currency’s decimal place setting to 3.
2) Instead of using the “This ticket is taxable” feature, you can set up a percent surcharge. You’ll click on Add Price Modifier, then select Percent surcharge, then input 6.625 for the Amount field
