Lorenzo, can any of this be accomplished using EE4?

Hi Tracy,

EE4 does not yet have any user integration system. However some aspects can be managed by using a third party membership plugin (we haven’t tested them all but S2Member should work fine).

For example, as EE4 events are custom post types, you can limit access to them (and therefore the registration) on a membership/role level.

However, things like changing the ticket price for membership levels will not be possible, though you could simply have multiple events each one locked ot a different level.

The tracking of event data on a users profile also wont be available until we build out our own user integration system.

If you have any other questions or need clarification, please just ask.

Hi Dean,

(by the way this is Brent at SkillSTAT on behalf of Tracy)

We don’t want to be able to restrict access to events based on membership levels per se, although that may be something we want to do in the future.

What we want to be able to do is provider users with a history (dates and times, etc) of courses they have completed with us. If a user were to register for one of our courses and create a login at the same time, would there be a way to leverage the data from events as custom post types to retain this somewhere in a user profile? Do you think something like S2Member would do that easily without a lot of customization?

Thanks!

Thank you Dean /Tracy,

That is what we want to provide our customers, a history. Do not have much knowledge on the S2Member tool or feature that you mentioned.

Any light on S2Member is welcome.

Thanks.

Hi,

“Do you think something like S2Member would do that easily without a lot of customization?”

No, it won’t be able to do that out of the box.

It might be possible but it would require custom development outside the scope of support (you would basically need a plugin made to bridge between WordPress/Membership plugin and the EE plugin).

We do have it on our agenda to create a plugin like the old EE3 WP User Integration, but it simply hasn’t been done yet.

So in short, unless you want to pay a developer to build something custom, allowing a user history can’t currently be done.
